A Full Lighting Renovation in Cherry Hills Village, Englewood Colorado

In the heart of Cherry Hills Village in Englewood, we recently completed a large-scale landscape lighting remodel on a 1.5-acre estate that hadn’t been properly maintained since its original installation in 2001.

Over the years, the property had evolved. Trees matured, landscaping filled in, and the original lighting system simply couldn’t keep up. The new homeowners wanted a system that matched the scale, beauty, and usability of their outdoor space. That’s where we stepped in.

Upgrading the Foundation with Modern Lighting Technology

We replaced the outdated system with premium Unique Lighting brass fixtures, paired with Emery Allen lifetime warranty lamps to ensure long-term performance and reliability.

To bring the system into the modern era, we installed Unique transformers with Smart Link controls, giving the homeowners better control, efficiency, and flexibility over their lighting zones.

The result is a system built not just for today, but for the next 20+ years.

Designing for Mature Trees and a Fully Grown Landscape

One of the biggest challenges on this project was designing around decades of landscape growth.

Large spruce trees, towering pines, and ornamental maples required a thoughtful approach. Instead of forcing light into the landscape, we worked with it.

We installed evenly spaced well lights approximately 3 feet off the base of the spruce trees to create balanced uplighting without overpowering the canopy. This technique highlights the natural structure of the trees while maintaining a clean, high-end look across the property.

Front Facade Lighting That Elevates the Entire Property

The front of the home received a full redesign using a soft washing technique to highlight the architecture.

Rather than harsh spotlighting, we created a smooth, even glow across the facade. This enhances the home’s texture, depth, and curb appeal while keeping the look timeless and refined.

Backyard Transformation | From Dark Space to Outdoor Experience

The backyard is where this project really came to life.

Arbor & Dining Terrace Lighting

We installed 8 fixtures within the arbor structure:

  • 4 downlights casting a warm 3000K glow over the dining table and patio

  • 4 uplights illuminating the arbor canopy for depth and visual interest

This layered lighting approach creates a comfortable, functional dining space while adding a dramatic architectural element at night.

Step Lighting for Safety and Style

New step lights were added throughout the property, improving safety while seamlessly blending into the design. These fixtures provide clean, functional light without distracting from the overall aesthetic.

Putting Green Lighting That Actually Gets Used

The putting green is now one of the most active areas of the property after dark.

Using 3000K lighting, we created even, glare-free coverage that allows the space to be used comfortably at night. It’s quickly become the kids’ favorite place to hang out once the sun goes down.

Navigating Challenges Without Compromising the Landscape

This wasn’t a simple install.

We carefully worked through overgrown landscaping, rewired through existing garden beds, and planned trenching routes to avoid damaging mature root systems and plant health.

Every decision was made to protect the integrity of the property while upgrading the system underneath it.

163 Fixtures Installed | Completed Just in Time for Summer

With a total of 163 fixtures installed across 1.5 acres, this project required precision, planning, and execution.

We completed everything efficiently and had the system fully operational just in time for summer nights, when outdoor spaces should actually be enjoyed.

Thinking About Upgrading Your Landscape Lighting in Cherry Hills Village?

If your lighting system hasn’t been touched in 10 to 20 years, there’s a good chance your property has outgrown it.

Whether it’s outdated fixtures, poor performance, or a landscape that’s evolved beyond the original design, a remodel can completely transform how your home looks and functions at night.

If you’re in Cherry Hills Village or the surrounding Englewood area, and your system isn’t keeping up, it might be time to rethink it.

Let’s bring it back to life.
